Why do you need off? Maybe virgin ecu was the solution... much simple...

It needs to be put in boot mode to virginise it. Tell me, how did you write Panathole's eeprom file?

Put the ecu on the car and connect only the harness in socket from the right(see photo). Put a pin into #20pin from the left socket to the ground chassis or minus of the battery, put abrites into obd, enter Fiat-special tools, on the top list select me73h4 boot mode, put ignition contact, press the button from the right-doown in abrites, where says MAKE VIRGIN. After abrites finishes, it will ask you to take ignition for 2minutes.
Remove boot pin, put back the socket, put ignition and start the car. When the engine temp rises to 80-90derees ,rev the motor 3times at the max limit and that will be all. Clear any logged dtcs ad that was it!

We also have a rally car only than a 1.2 16v with a ME73H4 ecu also only the ecu and wiring harness on it is immo off and works perfectly. If I do the 1.2 ECU on the 1.4, I only have spark on 2 channels instead of 4.

1. 1.2 and 1.4 haave different maps inside
2. What uou wrote witk kess was the flash. In your case, if ecu has no bsi, imo ect, you will need immo of on the 1.4 engine, too. But if your car worked ok untill now, you might have the ecu hardware problem. Try writting the files from the ori ecu of the car(from the 1.4 rally car), to annother ecu from scrap. You surely have already immo off on it.
