View Full Version : Lupo Immo Off (ECU or Immo?)

Hello,

Please understand that I'm genuinely an utter n00b at this. I've only just started but I'd really appreciate some help if you wouldn't mind :D

My mate has a Lupo 1.0 that has decided to stop starting due to an Immo ECU issue. It was left for well over 6 months and we're having a fair rough time trying to get it going again, so we've come to the conclusion that Immo off is our safest bet.

When Immo off, do you 'de-immo' the ECU or the actual Immo? I looked inside the ECU (an EDP15) for the 24c02 chip and found nothing with the marking or a DIP chip even resembling that. However, we cracked the Immo and found a 24c02 straight away. I know with that I can find the PIN and I suppose I could try and repair the car using VCDS. However, if we wanted to de-immo, how would we on this car? Is it at the Immo end or ECU end? Should there be two corresponding chips? When people talk about taking apart the Immo box, why bother if you can just find it in the ECU?

I appreciate these are all dumb questions, but please don't say "go and google". I spent about 2 bloody hours last night and found nothing but bit part threads and broken explanations :(

Hello, for start plz give ECU numbers ...

and more infos about the car, model year , engine type etc

You probably mean EDC15 ecu and on your question about "de-immo", you can write back the original file with all immo data in case you disable it, but as you said you can get the pin and re-configure it with VCDS.
Follow Andreastech81 suggestion and share some extra info about this car!

Sorry for the slowness. I'm at work today.

kiszka, thanks for the PM. I will do some more research later on. So details:

The car is a a VW Lupo 1.0 2003. I also own a Lupo GTI 1.6 but mine starts fine, I've just been trying and failing to get the SKC through the OBD2 Port.

In the case of the 1.0, it's an AUC engine, VCDS communicates with both ECU And Immobox. I have not tried VAG Commander yet.

IMMO: 6X0 953 257

I will need to check the ECU again, however I'm fairly certain it is this ECU:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-Arosa-1-0-AUC-ECU-030906032DJ-0261208097-Plug-Play-Immo-off-FREE-RUN/283728100511?epid=1359987777&hash=item420f833c9f:g:1Z0AAOSw0gVeC1v7

My first plan of attack was to try and repair the car with the Immo. You can do this through VCDS if you have the SKC. I don't, but I can try VAG COmmander and then if not luck, i can from retrieve from the Immo EEPROM right?

Would something like the above, with clamp clip style tongs to read the EEPROM work. I Am not against the idea of desoldering, but that just looks a simpler solution.

Thanks :)

Not sure if VAG Commander can read this eeprom from OBD, but it's better to desolder the memory because eeprom's may interfere with the rest of the circuit and you will have false readings!

So, as your engine is VW AUC petrol 1.0, the ECU sould be Bosch ME7.5.10 ...

so the eeprom inside should be 95040, to make immo OFF, you have to open the ECU and find that chip to read/write it ...

P.S as long as you don't give "thanks" and rep buttons when any1 trying to help you ... next time not that sure if he will help you

Apologies. I had no idea there was an etiquette regarding thanks/rep. Will do that now.

So the clip style are no good? Or just a bit unreliable? I was on the verge of buying this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122185294613

But holding off.

it is safer to desolder eeprom
where is the eeprom showed on ebay

If desoldering is the best/correct method, I think I prefer this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/270838478198

Allows you to conveniently place the chip into 8 holes. I don't like some of the others.

Orange 5 is a good starter programmer and eeprom reader

http://www.cardiagtool.co.uk/oem-orange5-professional-programming-device-with-full-packet-hardware.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1N_LpoCQ6AIVyOF3Ch 0mSQ87EAAYASAAEgIOzvD_BwE

its a litle bit expencive but is a very good programmer

Thanks for all the help guys (thanks added to all).

The Orange 5 is a tad expensive as it's really just going to be used once or twice but I note that they sell it on Aliexpress? Are these fakes?

Can you brick an EEPROM from reading with clips? Only reason I ask is the Lupo GTI, I just need SKC. Immo out. Clip on. Easy right?

Hello,

I finally got around to taking the IMMO dump and the two digits at 66 and 67 are 41 01.

Swapped is 01 41. ... Which is 321. Would the pin be 0321 then?

I've uploaded the Immo file and the ECU file. I've noticed the ECU file failed verification everytime and changed everytime. Is this because I didn't desolder the chip? It's a 95040. I have read I can do this through OBD port.

So is file I provided a good dump then? If so, then the 5v mod has worked on my little board and I am able to read the ECU's as well :) as Immo.

Do you concur regarding the SKC as well?

should be 7-digit SKC

Skezza
25th March, 2021, 06:49 PM
I don't think it should be a 7 digit SKC. This car isn't that new. I suspect it's most likely a 4 digit SKC, and the problem I've got is that I can see 41 01

Swapped around 01 41, converted from Hex 0141 is 321. So I don't know if you're supposed to put a 0 on the front of that or what?

no m8.................skc = 7 digits
pin = 5 digits
tell to us what you want to do

Sorry, I'm trying to obtain the SKC from the Immo box. It's coming out at 321

I suspect it's 00321.

I'm still not clear the best route for reading and writing ECU's tbh. There's a lot of stuff about BootMode and all that.

for skc - go to dealer

OK. I'm trying to obtain the pin then. The code that i can enter to pair keys into VCDS.
