can someone answer a few questions all in one thread about the DM600C .im thinking of buying one for me and the old lady ;-

1) what's the best/user friendly image for the 600c right now ?.is there any written one's like the DK image for the 500C ?.

2) Which type of harddrive do you put in and whats the best size ? i thinking 80gb would easily be enough.also anyone know were's the cheapest for a suitable HD for the DM600C ( im not asking for a cheap place for the DM600C just the hard drive) ?.

3) when recording , do you have to watch the same side or can you record one channel while watching another ?.and is the recording set up easy to use as i find the 7020 sat version a pain in the arse.

4) are the clone one's from china any good ?.

5) and last but not least , what are your general overall views of the 600C? are they worth the extra money ?.
thanks all.

I'm also new to the 600c arena. Eventually got it and have found through forum that Pli image (Iolite or Jade) is the most user friendly

It has to be a 2.5" drive. 80GB is fine. I use a 250GB as I do loads of cookery program recordings.

Well, this is where I'm still playing around, but I've found that If I record a program, you can only watch other programs on the same transponder. A shame, but after all, it is a single tuner device.

4) are the clone one's from china any good ?.

I got a clone from dvbseller. No problems with it. Do remember though that most clones as mine are not fitted with plug n play tuners but soldered on. So, if you have an issue with the tuner going forward, it will involve a lot more work to get out. (risk you have to take for the price of the device).

I do like the fact that I can record programs as well as watch channels on my pc via vls player (very reliable on Pli jade image). Also, a big plus, I've also got a 500C which I've mounted onto the hardisk of the 600pvr. this allows me to watch recorded programs on my 500c even if something else is being recorded on the 600C at the same time.

Overall, happy so far, but I'm sure the Pli team could make the interface a lot more user friendly.

Hope This helps.
