View Full Version : 2013 Ford Explorer XLT 3.5 FlexFluel ECU Read

Could anyone tell me if/how i can read the ECU/ECM on a 2013 Ford Explorer 3.5L?
This is my truck and i tried to read with Kess using Ford EEC-VI protocol, but i get "Error Reading HW Number".
Also tried with MEDG17.0 but also got error and could not read...

I would like to see if i can read this ECU to do a tune on it and probably remove Cat/Lambda to.

If anyone knows theses ECUs/ECMs that could tell me how can i confirm this i would appreciate...
Can i read this on the bench?

P.S.: I want to take the ECU out of the truck, but since my wife drives it daily i havenīt got much time to do it...

I think you can read/write it with PCMFlash via OBD.

i dont have for now a good J2534 interface so that i can work with.
I have a chinese one but seems to be very bad...

But i will be looking into that and will check the PCMFlash soft.
Probably for now it wont be an option because of all the issues with shippings around the world (at least here in Mexico its crazy to get packages in)
Will keep lsearching...

Tactrix Openport works very well, on PCMFlash you need module-02, I think.

Thanks. I will see what i can do for getting that.
But i also would like to know if the tools i have could do the job...
Will keep looking for options.
