How does one know what to use to read an airbag ECU k line can or eeprom or obd?

Anyone can give some guidance on how to determine what to use to clear airbag ECU?

K line
Can
EEprom reading

OBD

I start by looking online for the part number and crash reset information. Sometimes you will find some guidance. If no information online I will open it and see inside what kind of memory I am dealing with.

Then when I know what memory is inside I look online for pinout information and try to see if the tools I have are good to do the job.

I hope this helps, maybe others have better solutions but this is what I do.

There is no one way to figure out how it needs to be done. Your only limited by your tools and experience.

I would like to thank you all for taking the time to reply. I have seen a few honda scripts on iprog for k line reset. Found the crash when connected via obd port. Cleared it but then the airbag light stayed on. Tried to clear again no crash data found. Checked with a scanner crash data was still present. Strangely though tried the iprog after sometime found the crash data again cleared again no crash data found but the airbag light stayed on.

probably messed up sensor data. use decent scanner and do the sws and ods initialization process.
