Hello people.
How can I find ECU's PIN to add 2 keys I bought (Key+ID48 chip + FOB ready) ?

I've got MPPS 18 and KESS. VAG 19 (VCDS) too.

Is there a tool I can extract the ROM and read or write my own PIN somehow ?

I want to avoid IMMO off, I just want to add those new keys.

post ecu info
mpps and kess are not able read eeprom...........u need open ecu and read by ktag or desolder and use programmer
if by obd - eg. avdi

I've read and wrote maps successfully with kess. I thought somewhere inside this 1MB file could be the PIN too.

Digging around I found ArgDub's me7 95040 tool. Will try that for a start.

anyway to read and write complete eeprom you will need to dismantle ecu and make bootmode with that tool. OBD not take complete eeprom read if my mind does not trick me.

if, already undresses ecu, why read eeprom after
boot mode if eeprom is on a pcb
and can be read with the programmer

Maybe he's not confident with his soldering skills and that is why he looked for kline obd tool. Sure fastest is open desolder and read on programmer, that would be the choice i would take too. ;)

It's difficult because:
No Garage or any special place. Have to work on the street. Or strip it down on the street and work ECU @ home
No spare car.
No spare ECU.
Never bench ECU before. I know soldering/desoldering, got a station, playing with it but I am an IT guy ( Systems & Networks Administrator) not Electrical / Mechanical Engineer.
Not "confident" enough when especially I don't have a backup.

So I was looking for the "easy"-"lazy" way (OBD - K-Line) to avoid any issues with ECU/Car/ "Downtime" in case I need the car.

Anyway thinking all that (no spare ECU/Car) just ordered a second ECU just in case :peaceful:
Maybe I bench that one :peaceful:

Found eprom readers for about ~20-25$. Test clips also cheap. Worth it to avoid desoldering ?
Or should I get iProg or Carprog for 60-80$ ?

buy eg. iprog , desolder eeprom , read
on you tube you will find a lot info how to read , desolder etc

True, but as you see he overcome the advice anyway. And ArgDub’s tool i think not read immo lines if used OBD without boot mode. Was worth making him know he will loose his time with it.

buy another ecu? , buy a programmer ?, if you only want to code the key and get the pin code

vag commander, advi, fvdi, carprog, ...

They all work by obd2 without removing ecu or opening the ecu

vag commander costs about € 10, how much does the ecu cost?

Cheers
