Your car is very old and before You ask for more power via tuning make sure You fix first the problems that make it slow.
To this car the most You will get out of chip tuning is +8 to +10% if Your engine and systems are like new! In an old engine with problems will only make things more complex and more difficult to diagnose plus i am sure the power gain will not be noticeable if any.

Even on STD AX gti , deserves remap, and that little remap makes difference . This weekend I made one .

trust me it's not worth tuning,
if the car is out of healthy condition, the slightest problem with that engine will only make it bigger.


My advice
Change oil, filters, spark plug, put in best gasoline you can buy and that is that, you will get few % of extra power
