Hello,

I have a 2014 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI DSG, my friend has given me a tuned ECU from a 2013 Jetta Sportwagen TDI DSG (immo deleted) The only difference in our two cars is the ecu part number, other than that our cars are identical. Mine is 03L 906 019 JT, and the ecu he has is 03L 906 019 HC.

I compared the stock read off my ecu and a stock file for his model ECU, and the only difference appears to be some data at the very front of the file.

My question is, would I be able to use his ECU?

For your reference, both stock files are attached here.

03L 906 019 JT https://mega.nz/file/kR0RHTjR#89kd9TCkz9fHqncqoSnk-oR_nIMAu9L2MAZ_POqd-0Y

03L 906 019 HC https://mega.nz/file/QctTHDQZ#uApZRo7erUymDbgPEp4F5_YLqrYFmRnsGFfZF4Y-_Dk

Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you write different number what you have, you bricked ECU.

Hi thanks for the relpy! I am not looking to flash the tune from his ECU to mine. I was simply going to use the tuned ecu in my car as it is immo deleted already.

i checked and you can use it perfectly. the mods are the hw number and checksums! it will start and work!

Your saying I could just put the file off of his ecu onto mine and it would work? Im lost, I thought you couldnt cross combine hardware numbers.

Leave it mate, this job is to complicate for your knowledge.

if you plug that ecu into your car it will work no problem

Ok that is what I thought. Just to confirm, with the EDC17CP14, the IMMO delete is in the maps and also the EEPOM? I have worked mostly with MED9.1 so just want to make sure.

If I were to pull a full KTAG backup from his tuned ECU and flash it over my ECU, it would not work correct? Due to the different hardware numbers?

Thanks!

yes it is in flash and eerpom and yes if you did a full back up and flashed it over to yours theres is a possibility that it would work as i did one before with just the last 2 letters different and it worked, but get a full back up from yours as if it doesn't work you can always recover it no harm in trying mate
