you can but it may miss read , the blade extension will make keeping key square in lock very hard when decoding and can throw miss reads , better off with the dedicated va6 4 lifter tool

Decoding got wrong with this one. After picked. Numbers read out with 4lifter.
So I dismantle the lock and read.
Number 6 and 3 B top grid one number off according to stamped wafers.
The rest on A grid all OK.
Not the easiest lock to work with. I must congratulate the developer.
I was s_hitt and a lot of swearing. :)

If you could mount this lock, a 180.dgrs.
Upside down, i mean.
Then the A. Line would be of.
The handle to turn, the lishi wil not only turn, but also tillt the lishi.
If you picked it ones, locking it, and ones closing it.
Then this sum of these would show this.
And after opening, the degrees of turning it further open or shut, could, due to more tension, (torc) give you a different read out.
Turn it Just 20,dgrs, or a full 90.drgs, on some locks wil give you a difference in the outcome.
And like posted here, the va8, wil loose shape, due to its lenght,
Using the method of a 2 direction pick and Reading, it wil show that the 2 different readings are of only about o.5 on the lishi scale.
So reading the scale, not Just 1 2 3 4, but 0.6, OR 0.9, OR 1.2 wil lead to a perfect decoding
