You didn't say which image you are using but most images have a download server from which you can download the cam and install directly onto your box. If you have downloaded the cam of the internet in a 'tar' file than you can ftp it var/tmp on your box and it will then install into the correct directories on dm600c.

hi,
its the PLI jade image i have on. I have read this thread here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f34/evocamd-2-17c-110/
when i unzip the file and locate in flashxp it shows as a winrar file tbz2. if i transfer this across to temp folder and then on remote go to software management>manual install there is no file to select.
I have tried to connect it to the internet straight to my modem, browsed for ip addy and put that in as gateway but no luck yet.
I am right in asssuming that a X in the box for enable network and dhcp means they are enabled in the network settings??

All sorted now, connected to internet through router. wouldnt work at first as the cable i have hard wired from front to back bedroom is for some reason now faulty(never used it for awhile).Took router and connected to modem in front bedroom and connected straight away and downloaded evocam 2.14. transferred services/bouquets etc and made a back up of enigma folder for safe keeping.Just need to back image up to pc now.

them X's do mean enabled, would have made more sense for them to be ticks....or is it just me being thick?

If you are not too sure about how to connect your dreambox to the internet than it is better to leave the 'x' enabled otherwise you can do it manually if you know what you are doing.
