Mini DSG Reader HELP

I recently purchased a mini dsg reader and while trying to read my tcu it keeps saying...

what is the electricity consumption without tool, only dsg?

ive checked pinout again and tried it connects to the TCU but when I attempted to read the fils I get an error message

Let me ask you guys this... So I'm connected directly to the gearbox.... should I have the key on for this read or off...?

key off only batery 12v conected with cable dsg
