I understand i can recieve cable tv with this, record to my pc, and connect to the internet, is there any other functions the box has? also does anyone know where i can pick up an adapter to connect the box to my router wirelessly? apologies for all the ultra noob questions, just wanna make sure this is the right piece of kit for me before i buy it :)

I don't have one myself but you are proably looking at one of those games adpaters such as the one used for connecting Play station to the internet.

A word of caution - recording with a 500 is not very reliable. It's the main reason I switched to a 7025. If recording is a priority then a 600 is probably a better bet.

I have no problems recording to my pc. And playing back to the dreambox as well.

I think the dm500 is a good box. For the price.

I was kind of hoping someone would disagree with me. To clarify I only ever used the NAS method and not the ngrab method.

I had dm500S which I set up to record to the internal hard drive on my dm600 and I have to say that at times it was a bit glitchy. As the previous poster said if recrding is a priority than you may want to think twice.
