2014 fiat punto all keys lost

I got a call regarding a 2014 punto all keys lost, I remember reading somewhere that if I pick the car open it with lock the bsi and have no communication via obd, there no eeprom in the bsi so can't be read via bsi, has to be replaced etc....

Can anyone confirm this or is their a known solution ??

ive never had an issue with the punto in uk , not had one yet with an alarm and done plenty of the grand punto and punto evo without issue . though i have read of such an issue on forums from some in other countries , so never say never
