golf 1 does not have immo because it is on the carburetor
golf 2 reportedly had immo, the last years in the ignition module
golf 3, is not a carburetor only single point fuel injection
and has immo under the dashboard, produced until 1998
golf 4 was produced until 2004 and had immo in the meter
Golf 5 was produced since 2004, it also has immo in the meter
at least that was the case on continent Europe
so find out well what car you are dealing with

car is too far for me to check but im starting to think that maybe this customer is confusing immo box with ignition module that fits by wipers. I think that there is a replacement module that can work with normal key, not transponder key.
