Hi all,

i need advise from expert here.

my original ECU is broken and i bought the used ECU from junk yard which has the same hardware number and revision. But it has a bit different Software. The Car can start after immo adaptation, but sometimes cold start in the morning can be very rough and logger detected some misfires.

Original ECU:
Bosch Med 17.5
HW part number 1K0907115AA
SW part number 5K0907115A
Bosch number: 0261S04952 Software 501818

New (used ECU):
Bosch Med 17.5
HW part number 1K0907115AA
SW part number 5K0907115
Bosch number: 0261S04951

i have a Kess binary copy of the original ECU read by boot mode.

Can i flash the SW 5K0907115 with 5K0907115A? what method is possible, OBD or Boot mode? do i need to replace the eeprom data too?

thanks a lot.

Jack

Software is basically what revision the HW has, as far as i know you can write any SW long as the HW is the same.

Make a copy just in case, but writing in boot mode wont do any harm, you can always go back to how it is now,

Make sure the ECU isn't faulty as that could be whats causing misfires

It is in Malaysia. the problem is they are not confident on the software replacement as they don't want to be responsible if it fail and brick the ECU, as it is not bought from them.
