Hi all,

I have the following instrument cluster:

Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels:| 5G0-920-XXX-17.clb-SRI3 Part No SW: 5E0 920 790 A HW: 5E0 920 790 A
Component: KOMBI 509 1711

However, it had a hardware fault with the LCD panel backlight which I believe caused the following fault code:

10485832 - Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error
B2000 49 [009] - Internal electronic failure

The panel has now been replaced and works perfectly. I've confirmed the LED driver chip is working properly and it's fault line now shows no fault.

Is it possible to clear the fault now the hardware has been fixed? I can't find much online about VC/AID clusters yet.

Any suggestions would be welcome :encouragement:

I assume that nobody has dealt with this kind of issue?

Does anyone have an update/flash file for this cluster? I know 1703 exists but I'm not sure about 1711 or above :/

No solution yet but if I find one, I'll add a post.

When the cluster is next out, I'll try and read the EEPROM with my TL866II+. Based on my pictures it looks like it's a MX66L51285GMR-10G, given it's probably 512Mb I'm not sure it'll be easy to find and fix the bad checksum. For now, I'm happy to ignore the fault given I understand it and it's not affecting anything.

The standard (none AID/VC) clusters may have a different and possibly smaller EEPROM?

flash it and you will see

Just to be clear, are you saying a software update should clear the CHKS error?

If so, have you come across a 1711 or newer update for this cluster. I've been told that downgrading to 1703 will brick it. Thanks!
