HW SW question

Hey guys, just wondering, i have a tuned ecu file from my e46 320d, and my friend has almost identical bmw, he wants to chip tune it. Can i flash my ecu file to his? the HW number are the same, but SW not, is it possible to change SW code in winols and succesefully flash?

Hello, no you cant do it. If do it brick his ecu.

And how can i check HW and SW numbers of chip file? In Winols, it always ask me to input a new one with ckecksums
