I wrote to you that your China Opcom should work fine with Opcom China 082010 and Vauxcom 120309a.

You cannot run the newer SW Opcom if it is not activated or you are not using the HQ Clone interface.

Perhaps it would work with SW in the link I sent you after activation (not for free).

Now that you've done the firmware upgrade, your interface is probably killed.
99.9% of the interfaces with FW 1.99 have a false PIC 18F458. Unscrew and show pictures of both sides of the PCB.

First off thanks for the help and advice, in honesty i am trying to roll back to what i had before (1.99) I did pay for the SW so wasn't after a free ride I followed the instructions with the download to the latter, I have never have had issues with drivers like this before the device is defiantly connection to the laptop and is recognised in device manger the software will not run it keeps saying connect device (which it is) and I have used the drivers supplied in the download

I flashed the device with OCflash to v 1.39 and am now trying to roll back to 1.99

thanks again

First, what Opcom software do you want to run?

I don't have this Chinese FW, so I won't help you.
Unscrew your cable and check what the PCB looks like. If it has elements D5 and C22 then after FW update your opcom is killed.
Good luck.

Nope no D5 on the PCB I don't think I have fired it (yet)

I think it has a fake PIC 18F458. But use OCFlash and change the firmware to other (1.64). If you succeed, the PIC is real after all.
You will not need FW 1.99 then. FW 1.64 is enough.

Tried the flash with 1.59 couldn't find 1.64 it seemed to work ok the software says it's passed the test but when the laptop does not talk to the car and the interface was sending random commands to the ecu so no luck

I gave you a link to the topic with SW 120309a and FW 1.64. post 33,

Do a cable test with OCFlash. What FW shows after the update? If the interface does not connect to the car, it is most likely killed, as I wrote earlier.

Ocflash says 1.59

This is what ocflash says 767519

So you've probably got a real PIC. But I don't know why it doesn't connect to the car.

Before the update, FW was connecting? (what car, year?)

Thanks for the links

neither of the versions of ocflash will load up the 1.64 hex file that was in the link in post 13

I am not saying it won't flash I am saying it was not recognised by the flasher

Have you solved your problem? Did you change FW to 1.64? If not then do it.
Alternatively make a flash with FW 1.60.

Still not having much luck, I managed to flash the device with ocflash to 1.59 and now I can t flash it again keeps saying boot loader did not respond .. I think I may have killed it lol

Ive tried flashing the fdti chip with Mprog using the file in the download still no luck is there a better ept file ?

thanks in advance

So unfortunately I was not wrong. You have a fake PIC. You can repair the Opcom, i.e. replace the PIC with a real one, program it and make a few changes to the board. Or buy a second one with real PIC 18F458.

Thanks fo the reply, it was worth a try sort really fancy replacing the pic lol
