Obdmaster, wondering, you've got the whole set of the adapters from ecutool but look like some of neccessary instructions are still missing , aren't they

Im now under the decision phase to get the same set from the same place

Best regards.

Thank you M8, our next diffficulty is to find the TMS374 datasheet on net. I have no luck when do that, if only the pin layout should be fine.

It could be my ignorant, but which Doc. of yours is applicable to TMS374C003APQQ and TMS374CD13APQQ. At least for the pinout should be ok.

Pin assignment in the image should be for MC68HC05V12 and not TMS374.

Thank you m8 but ive got a copy of this doc already. Regard to this doc if all illustated pins needed to be connected. Be back to the original question to the adapter P/C 1-002-0008, how to map the pins.

I guess, this could be a good explanation to the need of doc 'xprog-m-tms374-manual-3-001-0002' if this unknown info is in there.

That could possibly be true. But there should be the members here have or know the properly connecting diagram of the neccessary pins to the programmer like xprog-m. That should be suffucient when working with it, this's from my point of view.

Hi. What is supposed to be put in the "Oscilator? Some kind of potentiometer?
Cheers

Zmann
17th June, 2010, 08:54 AM
No. the oscillator box refers to the original OSC circuit of the ECU e.g. quartz and a couple of capacitors. Don't need to do anything with it. Just connect the CLK line as shown on the diagram, that's it.

mexanico1971
17th June, 2010, 12:04 PM
you got to remove clk ! oscilator !

Zmann
17th June, 2010, 01:53 PM
It depends, if you know that the signal level of the CLK (Xprog) is stronger than the ECU OSC signal the ECU OSC disconnection or remove is not really needed, the CLK will then override it. The TMS374 manual shows some with disconnection need and some not. I think TMT has already tested that which ECUs need what type of connection as shown on individual model.

Hello again. I'm trying to read a TMS374C003APQQ a "SAFIR 2" but I can not read it. I get the error "ERROR INITIALISING BOOTLOADER." Not if you have something to do with the "oscilator." Do you have you ever tried?
I used the diagram on page 7 of the manual.

I used the diagram on page 7 of the manual.

Im not aware all of the TMS374 ECUs but the diagram on p. 7 looked a bit too generic and nothing different to on p.6 if you want to compare. Another document I saw showing SAFIR2 may equiped with either 27C512 or 28F512, which one is yours. If this true, and you do the proper connection of Vcc, AD0-7, GND and CLK according to the corresponding diagram. Then if the problem persists it should not be on the removal or not remove the OSC.

I just got back to retest of no original OSC disconnection on the 1AP.10 ECU (use the manual p.10) by reconnect the pin back. Read/write are still working fine, no data error. I also found that for my Xprog-m the external power supply is not neccessary to be 15 v, my 12v supply is working fine to this ECU too.

Hello Zmann. I tried to read a 1AP.81 IAW and read and wrote well without external tension. With the "SAFIR 2" I have not yet. I will try what you say. It's just curiosity.
Thanks;)

Guys, does someone know how to connect XProg-M to Sagem SL96-9 to read TMS? It does not have 27C512 or 28F512, it has 29C512!

Hi!
To read and write TMS374 must cut pins from board like diagram?

Zmann
29th December, 2011, 02:39 AM
I found some principle how Xprog-m work with TMS 374 incircuit.

-VppR must meet the specific requirement especially when programming. Therefore this pin must be definitely disconnnected from circuit.

-*External Flash/Eprom must be disable. Vcc always need to feed to the chip enable pin (most chips enable low) or the control device.

-RESET and SYNC pins depend on the circuit, maybe or maybe not need lifting.

-Usually Xprog-m clock signal is strong enough and, in most case, is able to override the circuit clock. No need to lift CLK pin (pin56) in most case.

-Can't find the function of pin15 but in some case it needs to be lifted too.

That's all what I know.
