I have ford Transit 2.5 Td and elmscan5 and scanxl but I can not contact the DCU.

Can anyone tell what equipment to use on this car?

OBD2/EOBD was not required on diesel vans until 2007. Not a surprise it doesn't work.
Possibly autoenginuity with Ford extension works on it.

IDS is the only real tool for the job on any of the post 96 fords.

Lucas Laser 2000 with diesel software module. I understand basic Laser 2000 or Sun PDL has to have a modification before diesel software module can be used on Lucas Epic system. Ford WDS apparently works too.
