Hello guys,

I do not know if its the proper section to add this topic

I own a original launch x431 euro pro 4 diagnostic tool
A 2020 fiat 500l 1.3mjd popped in the garage and i pluged the diagnostic tool just to have a look.

When i pressed health report (it is having a full scan in all car ecus) a window popped that said:''Please sign in with FCA account to unlock SGW it had a username and password to enter on the window)

When i manualy entered each ecu individually i was able to enter and communicate with each ecu.
Seemed that i could erase fault code and do adaptions ( i havent clicked to do any of them because the car is brand new, so i was bit afraid of)

I contacted with my local launch dealer and told me that i was able only to read fault codes and i have to pay a subscription to Fiat to be able to do all the functions erase and adaptions)

Is that the real deal?

Lets say that you replace a broken part that caused a check engine light to flash. We arent going to be able to clear fault codes or adapting a part ex throttle body relearn?

for some model fca (500, compass and renegade) or MB and other factory, the CAN line is protected with sgw module, then to reset service and to do many other functions you need an active paid account (launch or gutmann or texa or other diagnosis brand)...each diagnosis brand have his method, for gutmann you need one laptop with software sgw and various module to connect via obd and unlock sgw on car before connect diagnosis and reset.
on fca you can also unmount sgw module and bypass CAN line...then connect diagnosis and reset service
