Audi a3 1.4 tfsi 2009 lost all gears in manual gearbox

Hi can some one advise me please.My audi lost all gear with the bang noise in gearbox when I was moving backwards. Very strange that when I engage car in any gear it lows on rpm and then shutting down. I only can move car when I engage neutral the it starts to move forward?Very strange? I also adjusted linkage without any changes. I can guess that there can be gear arms broken and stucked. Guys what you think? Did you had similar problems before?Thanks in advance.

Lay shaft bearing gone? For reference 2009 vw caddy, Rumor states feature that they ate gearboes

By the way can you tell me rought price of bearing if the gearbox still in reasonable condition of course. Thanks

It was my mate cost him £500 to be removed repair and refitted at gearbox shop

Ok I try to remove gearbox on weekend and then we will see where we are. I hope so other internal parts will be ok. Thanks for your support.

Hi all just striped gearbox and notice that main shaft rear end fail due to starving of oil. Metal became blue due to overheat and all shaft bearings burn up. Issue was onether shaft bolt find place to escape through the rear gearbox case. Thanks for your help guys. I'll need second hand gearbox to run it again. Part to replace cost fortune. The cheapest gearbox I found for £450.Thanks for your support again.
