Hi guys ,i was asked to see a Merc 2010 GLK with posibile ESL failure .
The customer has 2 keys both work on remote but they do not unlock the eis.

Scanned both keys all ok ,but i noticed something interesting, ususal when i do a ESL emulator job ,if i put the key in ignition the little screen power on ,this time did not .

Tried calculating data for eis ,but at the last step CGDI says that the key is not insterted in EIS, tested the EIS coil with a tester and surprise ,is not being energised when the key is pushed in.

Measured the coil ,it has 3 windings , 2 of them are ~2 ohms and 1 in ~3 ohms so the coil is good.

From my point of view i think there is might be a switch failure ,the switch that pushes when the key is in ignition ,but i never repaired a w204/207 eis and i do not want to make some stupid thing before asking someone else opinion.

Has anyone of you a picture with that switch ? Where is it putted?Or did anyone of you faced this problem before? Thanks

Two micro switches on the PCB, at the base of the key cylinder. Check that they're good and the solder isn't cracked.

Solved today ,there is a double switch (normal open-normal closed) ,replaced it .Everything came back to life.
