That's the good news then. Some people charging for this £83 with the key included.

MK3 are out of stock but the price is the same $49 so maybe just no stock at the moment not about the Covid or Brexit

Only expensive keys will rise up becouse tax from 55$ is bigger than tax from 8$ (and many people was buying that ford keys from ali which price of them was big comparing to other china keys). Dont worry other keys rise only a bit

Not noticed a difference myself.

Even if was would pass on to customer

I’ve no problem with the rise as passed onto customer until it gets close to dealership prices then it will become a problem

why is it a problem if it gets near dealership prices , we provide a superior service to the dealerships , we go to them so no recovery costs , mostly same day . so we save them recovery costs , we save them downtime which can get expensive , and the jobs sorted same day with minimal disruption to them .

most dealerships wont look at it for a week , some are between 1 to 3 weeks to order key , you must get vehicle to them .

in an ideal world a more convenient , cost saving superior service with far less grief would cost alot more , yet in this trade its the opposite

a tradesman will lose a fortune off the road for a week or 2 , same tradesman will save a fortune getting back on road same day , yet this should be a cheaper service , i bet most trades would pay extra to keep working , i know i would.

this is why i can never understand the race to be the cheapest

Thinking more like about the spare key Rapid

I charge top dollar but gap is closing with some dealerships like BMW for example

prices may well close up , but the level of service , downtime and speed of service does not , dealer will never be able to match you for speed and convenience in an emergency .

this isnt the first time this has happened , it comes and it goes in cycles , there was a drought in past on these transit remotes , there was a drought on id63 40/80 bit chips , theres panic on the forums and then things right themselves.

alot of ford dealerships really dont want the lost key jobs , i get passed lost key jobs by local ford dealer weekly , had an old 2003 galaxy last week , dealer told customer the keys were now obselete and they no longer supplied keys for this year and model and gave the customer my number.

its just another blip in supply chain that rights itself in the end. still some well priced oem overseas and still the option of fitting new battery and case to used keys to fill the gap , i bought a good order of these at around £33 each 8 weeks ago so enough to keep me going through the lean time , these are a key i dont mind buying a stock of to get better price as will always use these thanks to heavy handed trades and the popularity of the transit as a work horse.

just dont be tempted by the tat aftermarket as they are terrible

Tried 2 aftermarket Transit keys pure garbage always buy OEM Ford now

Not used to blips in the market Rapid hence the post but if you’ve seen this before no need to panic just yet 👍🏻

no need to panic at all jimmy , you roll with it adapt and evolve , individually we are too small to influence the market , so we roll with it, taking stock oppertunities as they arise . the competition face the same issues we do.

transit on all years is a bread and butter key , its worth spending time sourcing a reliable supply , preferably with price breaks for quantity , if price is right buy bulk as will certainly not get stuck with them.

I’ll do exactly that as soon as prices stabilise. Cheers
