Hi are the lights on all the time, or only when the ignition is on, is the centre brake light OK?
Do you have wiring diagrams?
It does look as if the rear electrical module is faulty, the left, right and centre stop lamps are all fed from different pins on the module, I do not know if they are connected up internally.

the brake lights are on only with the ignition all the bulbs are ok even the centre one.

it wasnt the rec ecu that i was refering to in live data but the engine ecu.

Hi I meant is the centre stoplight working OK or is it on when the left and right stoplights are on.
The supply from the stoplight switch goes to the rear electrical module.
The other switch in the brake light switch is used for the ABS.
Do you need details of the connections to the stoplight switch and the stoplights?

if you have them that would be great.

The battery supply comes into the stoplight switch on a red wire to pin 1, output to rear controller on pin 2 brown/grey wire, to pin 55 of rear cont brown/grey.
centre stoplight out on pin 12 rear cont black/yellow wire.
right stoplight out on pin 44 rear cont black/yellow wire.
left stoplight out on pin 45 rear cont black/yellow wire.

There are people on this site, that you don't mind getting out of bed, in the freezing cold at 11:30 pm to add to their thread!

Remove one of the brake light bulbs and see id your DEC SS II, then shows "left hand brake bulb faulty"

The other thought, whilst sleeping is if the rear washer pipe has split and filled rar electric centER with water.

Had one of these astra a few months ago, where the fuel gauge sussenly stopped working, diagnostic said 'fuel sender' slapped one in, still no gauge
(FULL of fuel) checked both wires from sender to rear electirc thingy

if the same as vectra c then they are crap and fail.

Look for a company called Vauxhall parts breakers Vauxhall spares opel dismantlers Nottingham (http://www.megavaux.co.uk/Default.aspx)
Meat-Head-Motors have dealt with these before they have (think) op-com
as the rear vectra c module we got they had uncoded it, 'ready to go'

Can't be 100% but think these people are good as well vauxhall parts vauxhall spares provided throughout Wales and the UK (http://www.vauxplus.com/vauxhall-parts-for-vauxhall-cars.asp)
but ask for the security pass as think they are VERY good but think they use :sheep::sheep: (from wales) . If it is the same people we used before!

a man made fault is always hardest to find.
we would have told customer "open circuit positive connection in the fusebox area"

Thanks always nice to be informed what it was.

If you get bored you could always post it on here

All the same. Already checked 32 fuse - it's ok. Brake lights still on.

all the same. unplug ecu - lights off. plug in - lights on. there is no visible problems in front and rear electric modules (moisture etc.), also no problems in engine ecu. in livedata in engine brake switch 1 works as it should when pedal depressed, brake switch 2 active permanently. in all other modules brake lights are active. i suppose that the problem is in engine ecu...
