04 Almera and when the ignition is turned on sometimes the immobiliser , red car outline , flashes and car does not start. I think I have reset the system and it is no better. Could it be the battery in key, thought it only controlled the locking system, or maybe it is the NATS, thing that is on a Nissan. Where is the control ECU for this. A real pain in the butt as my missus drives our car and I keep getting the moan on a phone about it not starting, hope someone can help.

NATS module is sometimes mounted on top of the tunnel directly under the heater matrix which fills it with coolant for a joke when it leaks

I think its a TPX2 or 4D crypto transponder that doesn't need a battery

find someone with a consult and see what is causing the problem before you mess about too much

this reset procedure is only when immo has gone into lock mode i.e say you were trying to start with key with no transponder or wrong key.

on this key the remote function and immobeliser function work indepent to each other. if your remote is not working but the correct transponder in the key will still allow you to start the car.

this models have a problem with the cable/connector to the nats immo box and you can buy the modified loom.

the transponder is recognised as u turn the key in the ignition. if wiring/connection fault, u can try smacking under the steering couling as u turn the key and it might read the transponder.

best of luck
