Yes, bench of course. And notice, that you only read out the external flash. This ecu should have 4 MB + EEPROM = all data.

You should post more info. And maybe read the whole ecu at first. You killed ecu with autotuner? What tool do you use for bench mode? Is ecu in flash mode or absolutely dead? You could flash it with pathfinder, if you have a compatible VCI.

other ecu have dtc ?
I think it is better to open the ecu and read it in bootmode in order to have the complete file, because from what I see your reading is partial
if your tool has written other zones in the processor, it is not possible to verify it with partial reading

Yesterday, a guy blocked a edc16c39 iveco by service mode with autotuner....
I helped him with writing back with my tools...

They have to learn a lot of them...

how can it be that iflash0 on your backup has this text inside?

"10SW0233071226C226....G.*S@....................... ......5.........P_000_EDC17C08.15.3.0............"

something here does not match mate. EDC17 string on the inners of a MED17 ecu???

Guess without a proper backup both iflash0 and iflash1 from same med17.9 ecu it will be really difficult. Seens iflash0 got flashed with wrong file meant for an EDC17 ecu not a MED17.

morgano

Mate open ifalsh0.bin of your backup with hex editor and look at offset 0x200E0-0x20100 and see the text there, i am not making up anything, it is already inside your ecu.

And no, i don't have backup, you should find yourself.

i don't think every tool have positive and negative but 99% of all bricked ecus are bad files

What about the EDC17 string into his backup?

Did you have a complete backup for this ecu or was simply magic? ;-)

P.s: nice to see you in action again.

hello old friend :)

I had a full backup, with same hw and sw numbers, I extracted the iflash1 from the complete file, and wrote it in bench mode.

ps
the boy made a good donation :)

Other MEDC17.9 dumps have this EDC17C08-String also. That seems to be normal. Nobody of us got a thanks button. For me no problem. But itīs a shame...
