Freelander K16 1998 distributer
the head gasket failed on this so i pulled the head off bought head set and bolts, whilst cleaning the block i found that the liners had sunk.
i have replaced the engine with a running second hand one also distributor type.
The problem i have is no spark at the plugs, i have rechecked all the connections on the loom and all are ok any ideas?

You need to give more details. Have you replaced the ECU how have you fed the dizzy? Have you got a wiring diagram to check all the pin outs??

both engines are identical why would i be looking at pin outs the looms are also identical and so are the ecu's. Sorted now anyway broken lt (coil feed) wire in loom remade now all is well.

Hi have you looked at the crankshaft sensor, it's very easy to damage it when replacing an engine.
Sorry just seen you sorted it.
