I need some advice on reading small eproms onboard. I have been taking off board eproms the size of 9564, 9532, etc, but it is a lot of work, and there have been a few screw ups along the way. Anybody knows of where to buy a small clip or probe(not very expensive) to read these onboard? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd like to revive this thread.
Is any one have and idea how to read/program SSOP/TSSOP EPROMS without desoldering? Only idea I have is to use Pomona 6351 micro-grabbers (http://www.pomonaelectronics.com/pdf/d6351_101.pdf). But this set costs about $400:stupid:
Any suggestions???

As long as there is a place for a soldering iron, i prefer desoldering. The most reliable way to get a proper dump.

best way is a good bdm programmer CMD,BS,EVC,TRANSDATA
but the problem is that is only for ecus not for dashboards etc.

Is this (http://cgi.ebay.com/AGILENT-hp-5090-4356-SMD-GRABBERS-IC-CLIPS-PKG-20-NEW-/200319016314) is that are you talking about?
And if i understand you this (http://www.warwickts.com/shop/ds_download.pdf?UID=98) is datasheet for them. Am i correct? Because looks like this grabbers are too big for TSSOP package.
