Why do you think, that poor start (when the engine is cold) can be fixed by software?

in principle, any start-up is difficult

So, you have to diagnose what is the problem, not just to shoot "cold start problem".
Maybe low rpm, because of the starter, pre-glow problem, low rail pressure, etc...

No need to say what is new, but should say:
1. Cylinder pressure.
2. Rail pressure.
3. RPM at starting (engine not start).

Mate, after all, this Iveco was starting very well, when was new, with same software...

Check the rail pressure and rpms when the starter is turning. Maybe there is one or more bad injector/s.
