Can anyone advise which cables I need and which port I use on the TV please?

The only input on the Hi-fi is audio or phones?

I'm fairly cluless so in simple terms for the duffus please!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Unless your TV has red and white audio out I would expect that you couldn't I'm afraid. A lot of TVs these days come with only digital audio out, whether optical or coaxial. Your best bet would be to get yourself and AV receiver and connect your TV and Hifi to that.

You probably would have to use the side connections on the TV and use a 3.5mm stereo jack to twin phono lead, putting the 3.5mm jack into the headphone socket. (No sound will come out of the TV speakers)

The phono plugs should go into your AUX in on you Hi-Fi, assuming you have them connections on the Hi-Fi.

You can get the lead from Maplin:
Twin Phono to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Lead : Connect! - Phono : Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=31700)

Hope this helps.
