Here is how to do it,

In Developer mode :
Kombiinstrument -> Diagnose nach Werkangabe -> Steuergerate-Anpassungen ->
Steuergerate-Anpassungen (Variantencoderierung) -> Variantkodierung Werkeinstellungen ->

In the menu that shows , you scroll down untill you read the line : Tankinfo im Reichweitebild
enable this option
now you have tankinfo in the screen that otherwise only showed range

If you allso wanna adjust the way fuel consumtion is showed
you scroll a little more down untill you read the line : Verbrauchanzeige km
you can change it from L/100km into km/l

Scroll down and confirm Coding by pressingF3

if you watch your Instrument Cluster , you notice that scrolling through the menu , nothing changed .

For this , the "Kombiinstrument" needs a reboot.
to do this in Developer mode we go back by hitting F1 -> 3 times
then choose Ansteuerungen -> Gesamstliste aller Ansteuerungen ->
Scroll down untill you see the line : Steuergeraet Resetten (PowerON-Modus) (FN_Reset_SG_Power_ON)
Press F3 and confirm again with F3
Now you will see the "Kombiinstrument" reboots

If you think this would help you :wink:

Just a thingy to help. The above described procedure is for the facelifts, with the white light ICMs, not the ambar. For the ICMs with the ambar light (the above picture), there are 2 indications in german that contain the word INFO. The first is preceeded by the word OHNE and the second is preceeded by the word UND. You have to disable the first and enable the second, then do the steps to reset the module.

And it IS possible on pre August-03, I just did it on a C30 AMG CDi March 03

What I can't figure out is the cornering lights, when it comes t adapt the CGW and / or EZS

What you have to do is:

Go into DAS > Control Units > Information and Communications > ICM > Special Settings (the step above "Diagnosis to plant specifications") > Deactivation of the Seat Belt Reminders

cool

I thought that would be the way but wasn't too sure. And I don't really wanna risk something on such an expensive car just to have these settings changed. That's why I rather ask twice.

Thank you very much for clarification.

If you do this step (this is before entering diagnosis), nothing else is needed.

I'll check that again later. But I did more than just the seat belt warning.

Does somebody knows what KI15 means as one of the options available in the drop down box? You can either have it as Ab Motorstart (means basically From Engine Start) or KI15.

Thanks for all the nice info guys. I've read somewhere that is possible to display the date (as well as time) on the IC. I have a w211 face-lift and I wonder how this can be done. Oh and one more thing! While playing with the DAS settings I manage to disable the "run flat indicator". Can somebody point to the right place to enable it? [I do not have the TPC installed, but this function was there]

Go to Control Units -> Information and Communication -> IC - Instrument cluster -> Diagnosis to plant specifications -> Control unit adaptations -> Control unit adaptations ( Variant coding ) -> Variantkodierung Werkseinstellungen: Set "Datumsanzeige Grundbildebene" to aktiv. That's for your date to show.

Then you have to reset the cluster display:
F1 -> F1 -> F1 -> Actuations -> Complete index of actuations -> Steuergeraet Resetten (PowerON-Modus) (FN_Reset_SG_Power_ON) -> F3

About the Tire Pressure Loss Warning. This has to be done in different locations to my best knowledge:

Back in the Variantkodierung Werkseinstellungen:
1. Reifendruckueberwachung -> aktiv
2. Body -> CGW -> Control unit adaptation -> Read coding and change if necessary -> All Codes -> Tire pressure monitor: Set to: Tire pressure monitor without position-related pressure values -> F3 -> F5

If you allso wanna adjust the way fuel consumtion is showed
you scroll a little more down untill you read the line : Verbrauchanzeige km

Scroll down and confirm Coding by pressingF3

Just wanted to note that enabling Reifendruckueberwachung results in error in IC for a 2006 w211.
Error event in IC is Code 9127 "Fault in CAN communication with control unit RDK tire pressure control." Which to my understanding means it is looking for the full sensor based RDK control unit.
CGW coding "tire pressure loss warner" to present activated the required menu in IC with the press + to activate.

Still have to test if warning shows up...

You have to disable TPMS if you dont' have the system and enable RDK for the ABS/ESP based tire pressure loss warning. All USA coded (SA Code 494) cars have it active regardless whether it is enabled or disabled upon ignition (just FYI)!
