Bmw e39 3.0d 142kw File size

Hello, today i tried to read e39 3.0d 142kw engine. I used mpps(chinese) readed without any issues, but file size from my expierence was a bit small it was only 58kb. I read somewhere that such size is enough just for some simple tuning, so how excatly it is. Will i be able to write it to ecu with mpps? Or should i desolder the eeprom and read it tssop44 adapter.
