BMW 320 BOSCH 0281012501 DDE 7798180 clone to 2nd hand ECU, using just eeprom ?

Trying to fix BMW, original ECU has water damage, the M95640 reads fine tho ..

can i adapt the new one from the old one ???
copying 1 to 1 hasn't worked :(

is ISN in eeprom ?
its got a CAS2 box. but that doesn't have a easily read eeprom like the ecu :(

i have now dumped NEW ECU BDM with KTAG (attached file)
but not able to dump the OLD ECU as must be too corroded it seems (checked all the traces around port etc, all check out ok)
so not able to fully clone it still :(

have swopped over eeprom, but not able to correct VIN, or ISN (syn CAS)
whats the best way to re-sync the CAS ? edit ECU VIN ?

i have read on here that INPA can do this? is this still the best way ? and wasnt clear which cable would be needed for INPA? tried a ODBLink SX cable but was a no go :(
is any K+Can Ftdi cable work ??

have attached the NEW ECU dump, is anyone able to correct VIN to? WBAV320X0VA26829 (old vin ends in 1032)
and extract ISN ?

VIN shouldn't be important, but if you update with WinKFP, it will be correct.

ISN should have been in the eeprom and transferred over when swapped

Original ECU ISN EC96
Donor ECU ISN shows as 1EC6

wow that was quick thankyou ! .. did you look up manually or use a program ?
WinKFP is part of INPA ? would i need a new k+CAN cable to use that ?

Now you know what the isn is, you can look it up in your eeprom files and note down where it is written.

WinKFP does come with INPA etc, you can probably find some WinKFP guides, but the VIN in in the ECU isn't important.

have ordered a DCAN cable so i can use WinKFP/INPA
as read even tho you have now confirmed that the ISN will match the CAS (AS its from the original ECU)
it still needs reseting/resync with INPA in the CAS module ? which is due to the VIN missmatch..
which is why i was wondering if it is possible to correct VIN with KTAG, so i didnt need have to do the resync...

not sure how correct that is though ??

Thank you Kiszka, can see thats the new ECU eeprom, with the OLD ISN number crafted in to match original CAS...
what about the Injector codes ? are they stored in the eeprom as well ?

now sure which one would be best to use ? and if i its possible to craft in VIN into BDM dump ?

Injector codes can be programmed with almost any device if required
read flash ECU and share

I think you don't know what backup is
it needs a flash read, no backup

arr ok, so separate like the eeprom, but you need flash, can be done with KTAG though yeah ?...
only got backup when i had it open,
tried to get a read via plug , but doesnt seem to want to atm :( only need +12 GND and KLINE ? or CAN as well ?
if not will open it up again ...

reattached properly... althou ktag mentioned checksum error on read ?
flash dump is now attached...
