All 3G ITools are required to be assigned an IP address by a DHCP server so you need to have one in your network in order to assign one to the ICOM.

However, the ICOM does have a built in GUI Web Interface for further configuration ( exactly whats in there i dont know ) but as yet, despite many requests on this and other forums, nobody is willing to share the username and password to access it. :giveup:

If you have the old SSS installed can this be modified with ISTA p files to recognise an e60? Progman wont at the moment due to it beingg updated with ISTA at the dealers and I wondered if ISTA was the better way forward rather then trying to change things in progman...

It is possible to update SSS with latest SP-daten files from ISIS install, this is explained in one section that was previously visible but now not. I think this is explained on other forums.
Although it is possible to do this it is however not advisable since it seems that the SSS oracle databases are not updated in the process and this could cause problems (SSS won't understand which new flash files that belong to which ecu).

Try going for ISIS instead, thats what i'm doing right now but not with any success yet...:hmmmm2:

Unfortunately, that part of the forum no longer exists. I hope someone can help me. I try to install ISIS in a virtual machine and the installation terminates. But only appears in the Log screen.

First you need the ISIS modded dvd (easiest way so far)
Setup your VMware (version 7.01 or up)
VM settings:
HDD: 600GB or even better 700GB set to IDE
Processors 2
Mem: 8Gb
Network: set to host-only
Virtual network Editor settings:
Host-only (connect VM's internally in a private network)
Use DCHP service to distrubute IP address to VM's
Ok boot up your VM with the DVD as iso in the CD section
Let it fully install till it doesn't do anything any more.

- Username: administrator
- Password: Jmmssw1nPfdAiRG4+a!
If this password doesn?t work, use the following password but beware
- Password: Password

BEFORE START INSTALL THIS YOU NEED TO HAVE:
PC WITH 12Gb RAM AND GOOD PROCESOR QARD CORE on 2.8Ghz ,HDD 1000 Gb

After install this farst have other steps!

ISIS 2.8 installed. changed files for battery check from 2.7 and forgot to make a backup. Now WSM manager cant start. Need 3 files from ISIS 2.8

Then click on wrench icon->select language and BMW options.WSM will go blue..

I have installed isis and did the offline reg. Then installed the isis launcher,and
everything worked fine until I restarted the VMware client
(win 2003 server->shutdown->restart). And when win 2003 loaded ,isis doesnt work anymore.
Isis launcher notification says :"cant connect to isis". All 3 VMs are offline,but I could turn them on
(I dont think it would matter)
Isis doesn't listen on 195.168.1.5,port 80 (that's the ip of isis).It does on 127.0.0.1. Stunnel reports problem.
And here's a stunnel error log:

i installed isis 2.8.0 on vmware and have the same problem, that these directories don't exist. i only get isis1 on the wsm screen and the other three don't appear there. i only get the vmantares with 64 ram in the vmrcplus.
i manually installed the vm from the 2.7 package, but they don't show up or run.

i registered the isis offline.

what could be the problem?

i have installed isis 2.8 base image and insert the vm from 2.7.
they all are running.
when i try to update vm with 2.7.19 ispi platform update it shows me only 1 hdd base update with about 8mb.

i didn't run the update, so what could be the next step?

I've installed ISIS 2.9 (VMWare), but when I'm trying to install fresh ISID, got error on very begining (Fatal Error 21 reading BOOT.INI).
Also tried attach my "old" ISID (from 2.7.1 installation), but after proper (?) registration in ISIS 2.9, there is still "not registered" info on ISID, and software update do not start..

What did I do wrong?

you must install it on your host machine, open internet explorer, type adress of your isis and go, software overview, client installer...

Yes i'm installed the isis launcher to wrong place (vmware isis server). Help me please! Where to installing the ITOOLS, ISTA/D, ISTA/P, and ISSS (host machine or vmware isis server or vmware but not the isis server)? I'm installed the isis_dvd_2.7.0.31 Mod. It's working fine (4 green dot). I have ISTA_D_V2211 and SPdatenE89v40 and V41 and v42, SSS base vmware.rar and Progmanv320_1.isz and _2.isz.
And working the complete system if I'm not installing the ITOOLS 2.7.1? Because i'm searching that all of the internet but nothing.

As far as I know, on ISIS you can install: ISTA D, ISTA P, and ETK. On ISTA D you have diagnosis and tehnical information, on ISTA P (ISSS), programing and coding. I dont know about SSS and some SP daten instalation, everithing is on ISTA P disks.

I started to install Isis. The three server install for two days (vmantares 2gb ram,vmetk 3gb ram,vmscore 1gb ram). How long is the installation?How much is the total installed isis? I have only 353gb free.
There is a multi diag ACTIA interface. May Isis operate with the off-line?

I'm almost done with isis installation but when I register isis as offline all vm's shuts down and altough registration key is correct isis goes offline and then comes back up with status 'device could not log on' and none of vm's powers up automaticaly.

Initial setup was fine and problem free. All vm's got created and updated accordingly to installation process.

When I start setup in WSM they work fine and only after filing in basic information in WSM to get it to finish off setup process all three VM's eventually goes off and stays like that and ISIS status i WSM is connected but not registered.

Tried several restarts but no luck. In device status of ISIS there is a ' local server not available'

How can i get it to work?

4 cpu's
12gb ram
600gb hdd ide
2 network cards bridged automaticaly to active host's interface

I'm not interested in buying anything from anyone. Just trying to setup bmw system for my car and maybe few friends as well just to be ae to avoid expensive labour rates at main dealer...

Server is almost running fine but after installing ispi tools, Antares shows "monitoring ISTA' message and istaD database can't be installed on it...

Any idea why? Initially all three vm's were running fine.

I am trying this for a long long time but I have exactly the same problem after I register ISIS everything goes offline!

I have screen with hand wsm "lauching" and this isid not start and i not see isis ans isis not see isid i install vmware tools and not change....
