Today i decoded a Jaguar x300 1996 with my new 8-cut decoder. Worked fine on the door only the dolphin had some problems with the software. Nevertheless the key worked at the end. After that I tried that key in ignition, no chance. Maybe they changed someting in the past. But the problem with the readings in the ignition is that they showing 4 different cuts. I mean, there only must be 3 cuts.
On door it was: 31211223
Ignition is something like: 43121123
Thats not possible?

There is no 4 cut, so dont mind the ignition reading.
Dolhin can not cut the 2 correct.
If you want to cut the 2 correct, it needs to be something like a 2.5.
Try this: when dolhin tells you to put key in position 0, instead off 0 you turn it on 1.
This will fool the height calibration. And will lower the following cuts.
And then choose a 3 cut instead of 2, and you should end up with a 2.5 depth cut.
So dolfin needs to created these cuts 4 1 2.5 1 1 2.5 2.5 4 to get 31211223

Yes, i cut the key with 31211223 but it only worked on door, Ignition is a total different reading. And no, you can cut it with dolphin, just useed 1, 3 and 4 on the m3 clamp, like you told. It worked. Or do you think that was the problem with the ignition, because its not a real 2?
Next time i will try to fool the high calibration with the position 1 :-)

A 3 cut on a Jag8 is same as 4 cut Ford6.
A 1 cut on a jag8 is same as 1 cut ford6.
So the problem is not your ignition.
To get a jag8 3cut, you could also cut a ford6 2cut, and file it a lttle down.
The angle might be slidely off, using the fool dolphin height calibration method. Filing could be easier.
