yes i use XEP100 - uses the pcb header plus wire other side of board.
Needs a steady hand.

this method reads the info so avoids any messing with breakcoding

X-Prog or SMOK J-Tag will work as well. Use SMOK j-Tag connection diagram because do not need to lift any legs.

Lads I have found the easiest way to read pincode and CS from 24C32 & 24C64, just pretend you are reading mileage by obd I use Smelecom VAGPRO the cluster will go in service mode at this stage you take out the tool you read the mileage and use VVDI2 or any other tools to read cluster in service mode after you have all the info put back the mileage tool and reset the cluster and learn key with dealer key you made from CS.

I don't think that you can change the mileage by OBD if you don't have working key

and if you have key must be easy to read the CS and PIN by OBD

AFter 2008 dash is locked if no working key.
Carprog use to put it in some sort service mode but people always complained of lost abs coding
