Hello, I recently bought a A4 B7 2.7TDI 180hp fwd with a Multitronic 7-speed CVT transmission,
need some opinions on how much of safe torque, hp this gearbox can handle,
the car is daily driven, I recently did a remap to it, went with 420nm, the car runs smooth, no problems so far, was thinking about going a bit more.
No need of comments saying that I need to get a quattro with tiptronic or that this transmission is shit.
Opinions are welcome from people who owns a remapped audi with a cvt or had a remapped audi with a cvt.
Thank you in advance.

In case anyone is thinking about remapping a 2.7tdi/3.0tdi with a multitronic gearbox, chrisimerk (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/member.php/619837-chrisimerk) and I made a new file for my car and we managed to get some good results, found some information that this gearbox can handle 450nm. In case anyone is thinking how much of nm you can go with - 450nm is your sweet spot. After the remap no jerking or any problems so far, was driving full day, giving the engine and the gearbox some hard time, all goes good and no problems so far.

Hello
i have seen too many multitronic belts rip apart and make its way trough the housing right onto the street. The multitronics are built for 400Nm max by design. That is the reason the gearbox ecu itself is limiting the torque values. On older cars with stock 380Nm or on newer edc17 with 400Nm stock. You can force the ecu to override these limits either by finding the right switches or by fidddling injection timing or torque calculation. Either way the tension on the belt will cause it to lengthen and it will fail sooner or later. Also the cones get heavy wearout and the belt cannot slide up and down and will jump and slip.
Avoid multitronic if you can.
