IO Terminal via OBD. You only need to calculate the checksum after modification.

Autotuner reads like all other tools...
But it stores 2 different files...
One is full 4MB for cloning for example...

And one file 2.5 MB it gives user for modification...
And until now for example Autotuner only do chksum correction on 2.5 MB...

Just create a new 4MB bin file...
Fill out first 1.5 MB with anything you want...

And use one of this special professional SW...
And all chnages will be done in the last 2.5 MB...

Cut again file...
And write, and all good...

And Yes, 2.5 MB is enough...

And Yes, special Professional SW like ESS, Winmaf, Swiftec, Ecudecoder, and so on dont accept this file size...

But yes all modifications are done in this area...
No where else...!

to clarify things about e98 files, OBD read IS ENOUGH for everything because DTC Error Class is inside HOWEVER, codes to determine which class belongs to which DTC Code is in full bench read only, it is possible find matching sw ori bench file to determine class (which is i do mostly) so OBD readout suffice for any modification, you dont need to modify anything outside obd area , just for easier DTC class determining bench read is preferable
