Ive been using verbatims and they work well, however the place i was getting my splies has greatly inflated its prices to unjustifiably expensive.

Me being frugal i figured a disks a disk right?
Wrong.
I wound up with a spindle of BulkPaq disks as they where going cheapest and i figured what the hell, why not?

Turns out that these use some kind of Ricoh Dye that my main burner doesnt like (giving me power callibration errors when it hits the 2nd layer)

So i figured it would be usefull if we compiled a list of disks that people have had successes with and even places to pick em up online.

Its not a hard job, next time your burning a disk with imgburn it tells you the dye type as you slap the disk in, just report it back and we'll form a comprehensive list

in BulkPaqs case the id reports as RICOHJPN-D01-67

So whats everyone else using?

RICOHJPN-D01-67 is to be found on nearly all Cheap DL media.

Ie Aone, bulpaqs, ect.

It is also the most faked disc identifier. old aones used RICOHJPN-D01-67 but actually were quite good.

Unfortunatly there seems to be no middle ground, there is either cheapo RICOHJPN-D01-67 brands or Expensive verbs.

I found Riteks to be somewhat better than the cheap dics, but can still give you a fair few coasters.

Agreed here. I use Aone and dont get many coasters from them at all. Reliable but had issues with bulk paq, mirror and a few others. Aone stood out above the others

Ive got a pioneer dvd writer in my lappy that hates the type.

My little sammy in an old busted up computer seems to love them though and happily writes em off at 8x without a hitch...

I usualy stick to 2.4x but i figured since i was racking up coasters i might as well have a play around and see.

The only problem i have is transferring the images over my network to the computer to burn em.

I'll be sticking to verbatims from now on i guess, ive never had a verb coaster on me so i figure the expense is justified by offsetting the wastage on other media.
