Mercedes Vito 639 mileage correction, how to program eeprom please.

Hi, I have replaced a stolen instrument cluster with a used one. The odometer is showing ----- dashes after briefly displaying wrong kilometers.
I've been through many forums and sent my cluster to a shop which has the tools to remove and reprogram the cluster EEPROM.
I would need the cluster to be reset/virginised instead of only writing some kilometer value since I don't have the exact mileage at hand,
since i've driven with dashes displaying for around a year.

Would someone be kind enough to explain in detail what ranges/lines are needed to change on the EEPROM to have it "virginised"
Is pairing with Star Diagnostics tool needed after this or will the cluster automatically pick up the correct mileage from other modules?

Bonus question would be what would be a good eeprom programming device if I ever decide to take on the task myself?

The fact that the "shop" accepted and programmed the dash without further action explains a lot.

To make a correct work, you need a) program dash (with any eeprom-programmer) and b) teach-in the dash to the EZS with Star or other advanced diagnose-tools.

Thanks for answering. I see, I have now a guy working with it with eeprom programmer and xentry diagnostics tool. First tries were unsuccessful, but if he fails I'll ask him to give me the eeprom dump and maybe later to program it back with your changes. Thumbs up!
