Been playing around with srs modules and clusters for some time, when reading the eeproms I usually set my programmer to read using 3 and 5 volt, that way have 2 copys of the dump should they differ. Then if I run into any problems, or if the dump does not look correct I go back to the file not used.

My question is, how to determine which voltage for which eeprom? Interested to know what the experts on this forum can suggest.
thanks

:rulez: it was a joke! or not! read datasheet if you are not sure about a memory if you want to read/write! the voltage is only one: 3v or 5v (in 90% of cases). but, atention!!! if you read for example 93c56 at 8 bit, after edit the dump do NOT write-it at 16 bit's! depends of programmer if you are use it! if i give you a dump for 93c56 edited by me (read) at 8 bit's and you try to write-it at 16 bit's with labtool or upa you will see after that the result...
and....of course we can discuss alot about this subject beacouse some people learn 5-7 years about electronics (in college) and they dont know everything...
verry good subject!

I currently use 2 programmers....upa usb and arlabs. Both have settings of 3 or 5 volt. Have not messed one up as yet, but I am concerned.

if you are using upa usb (like me) you will see when you select a device, automatically upa will point for you the voltage, read seqvency (from 00 to ff...) and if we speak about securyzed motorola he will show that boxes for bit's...
