I'm currently using Autel Maxicom MK808, but it's pretty simply and has basic features. I need features like Active testing and ECU coding. Which diagnostic tool are you using/would recommend to me? Advantages/disadvantages? What do you recommend me to buy? Budget up to $2000.

Your Budget is to low :highly_amused:
Everybody should own an Launch/Autel (this is an standard musthave) in the diagnosis world!
You can get also Bosch Esitronic Original as another Universal tool. Launch + Bosch for example, is a good combination.

And than its up to you, best results you will always get only with original Dealer tools and software!

EDIT: If you don't wanna extend your budget. Another Idea would be to get an PassThru tool! Scanmatic I would recommend. With this you can use MB, BMW, VAG, and much other Dealer-Original Software and even many tuning Software!

As said already Launch and Autel are a must, both similar coverage but both have features that will not work or missing but the other will work. And a scope is a must, i use picoscope and a fluke handheld.
Good luck
