Ducato Boxer Jumper 2013+
Marelli bsi
MB91465P 95640
Some i can read the eeprom, using Smok.
And a few eeproms using obdstar.
I can always use the precode with obdstar. Even if i cannot read the full eeprom by obd.
The problem is getting the remote to work.
When i precode by obd using obdstar, the remote does not send at all.
It does start the car.
When i have the eeprom dump, i use avdi to precode it , by choosing smd 8 pin.
Then the remote works.
Some say, there a 10/16 pin smd marelli keys. (are theys out there)
Will these work with obdstar? (or a xhorse key)
I should have bought io-terminal. However, i do not know, if it reads all 95640 bsi versions?!

No it's not.
I never ever able to read Marelli bsi (95640) with IO.
I tried in the car and on bench multiple time and with multiple version hw too. At least 8-10 BSI :D
It will stopping somewhere between S1 and S4 (IOTerminal loaders, connecting files..something like that)

Thank you,
Then i should find out why obdstar fails to program the remotes.
I have seen some youtube vids. All precoding remotes, and they work.
All my remotes come from China.
When precoded by dump, using avdi they are allright.
Does obdstar precode these, like 10/16smd, instead off 8smd.

PS, I know that until or after 2014 can make a difference in reading by obd, using smok
And this relates to this 8 or 10/16smd:

I asume that the remotes are with fake 7946 and this is the reason why not work
Open the remote and upload the picture

Why does Avdi precoded these correct?
And Obdstar does not.

Honestly i've never had problems precoding Fiat remotes when the right one (8 or 10 pin) is used. I also work on FCA cars with AVDI, IM608 and Obdstar.
Done a Ducato last week with AVDI all ok, and yesterday Giulietta 2015 that is also MB91 + 95640 with Obdstar no problem, so could also be a Key issue, or more precisely an issue that OBDStar has with those china keys.
I buy Delphi/Marelli remotes PCBs from Ecuvonix, never had a single problem

For this last car, I will take the bcm out.
And hope that i can borrow someones car soon, to test and find out how to solve it.
I am going to look in to a different key suplier.
And try the Xhorse keys

One time i programmed Xhorse key on Fiat Bravo (8 pin) because i didn't have aftermarkey keys, done with AVDI, it worked well

Why does Avdi precoded these correct?
And Obdstar does not.
The chip looks OK
With TMPro on aftermarket remotes I always choose 10 pin and work every time
The option 8pin is for originl remotes with 8 pins

Obdstar does not let me choose. So i will keep using Avdi by dump for now.

Obdstar only makes precode for 10/16 pin SMD remotes, if you only have 8 pin SMD marelli remote in stock you can use Lonsdor, avdi or TM2pro so you can choose your remote precode, Delphi system is always 10 pin SMD precode, i honostly dont know why Obdstar doesn't let you choose the precode thats needed. i have have 10 and 16 pin smd marelli remotes and also 8 pin smd marelli remotes in stock, choose you remote to the programmer you're using. never had problems, because it al comes down to which precode you're programming in and your remote will work. never had these so called Fake remotes. the nice thing i notest with lonsdor was that if i used the wrong precode i could change the precode without having to relearn the key to the system and it would work right after 1 cycle with the new key on the ignition. this work for all ducato's from 2012 al the way to 2019. the 2020+ ducato has a gateway system build in.

It's not true that OBDstar can't precode 8 pin remotes, i've done a lots of Giulietta, 500L, Bravo and Delta with Obdstar using a 8 pin Marelli remotes and all of them worked perfect. Maybe OBDstar could have a problem with some specific 8 pin remotes (china..) but it's not true it can't precode an 8 pin Marelli remote.

ah and that is why you should read more carefull, because we are not talking about the older 95C160/320 Marelli systems or about the models you are discribing, but the newer 95C640 Marelli system for Ducato and Iveco which obdstar doesn't program the proper 8 pin smd precode. i have original unlocked 8 pin smd marelli remotes in stock, no luck with obdstar, but lonsdor or avdi no problem. only 10 pin SMD china aftermarket or silca remote worked with obdstar. i assume it more down to the programming of obdstar than it is a key issue, i hope they can make a menu to choose the precode so it will make it all alot easier to select the proper precode.

I've already written some posts above that i've done a Giulietta with MB91 + 95640 with OBDstar, your statement was 'OBDstar only makes precode for 10/16 pin remote' and this is not true, this is why i've replied you.
Anyway, Marelli BSI with MB91 + 95640 are a little tricky, and does exist in at least two different hw versions, different tools have problems with those modules, also AVDI for me failed to read it by OBD in a Giulietta 2018, then dismantled and done reading eeprom by programmer and precoding by dump with AVDI.

Has any of you done these (Ducato/Daily 2016-2017) by OBD? OBDstar insist I must connect it directly to the SGW security gateway but I never could find such thing in the Daily.
Always do them by eeprom. The information I found until now says SGW is mounted in vehicles 2018 and up but that does not explain why those Iveco Daily just before 2018 can't even have proper diagnostic by OBD - AVDI and Autel don't even show the BCM for errors cleaning.
And yes - KEYDIY generated remote work every time with OBDSTAR or AUTEL, but for aftermarket Chinese key you must use AVDI FIAT key maker to be able to select the proper chip leg number (or another with this option).
