vw polo classic

i am having problems accessing ecu on polo classic 1.6sr 2000 on a w plate with akl engine, I bought a cheap reader off fleebay it read all ecu's except the engine( i.e. abs etc) so i bought vagcom with cloned lead it searches but finds no ecu's at all.the lead works on other vag cars please help

Maybe is MM ecu and try with any obd soft,interface with KWP 2000 support and the and maybe ecu is defective by diagnostic line.Vag-com 510 and newer 100% work with that ecu.Cheers!
