Hi,

Here is immo-off eeprom for your ecu.

I can help you restore the cluster as well, but I am in doubt about the powerclass value for this ecu version?
Can anyone here help to find powerclass?

I think powerclass is 6A but please confirm it.
It should be possible to use VCDS and go to ecu and read AdvancedID to retreive powerclass value, or maybe go to measure blocks or so.

Sorry for the late response I tried to write ECU with Ktag clone without success, I verified it is 6A power class magneti cluster. Could you help me create cluster eeprom file with the above information. Otherwise I have to get new programmer after the new year.
Thanks again!

Hi,

>I tried to write ECU with Ktag clone without success
You mean engine shut off after 2-3 seconds?
Does anyone know if ME17.5.6 needs a flash immo-off patch also?

I wasn't able to find exact eeprom for 5K0920972B MM5 9S12, but I have for you 5K0920870F MM5 9S12.
I inserted your immo as follows:
VIN = 3VWPP7AJ2CM624892
PC = 6A
CS = BE160FFDC278815B1FDD02B6
MAC = D59A6C7E
PIN = 13680
(And 2 old keys are still present: 17C94813+01B24B13)

You need to prepare a ID48 transponder as TP23 and write 7 CS bytes to it. Then you can add TP to cluster using some tool, or insert TPID in eeprom directly.
(Edit: sorry you need to write 12bytes CS but some MM clusters still require TP23 before TP is recognized!)

If all is well engine should start.
Cluster will show speed in KM so the needle will show wrong speed as MPH.
If someone can help find 5K0920972B MM5 9S12 (or similar 97x eeprom) it would help here.

Best regards,

If you 972B cluster is a different version than the 870F I posted, then immo data might be stored at different addresses :(
I have no way to check this until I get a real 972B eeprom or at least an MM5 eeprom with same version as your 972B eeprom.

Btw are you 100% sure the cluster cpu is 9S12 and not NEC?
Did you open the cluster to check?
Can you post picture of the cluster label please?

It seems your ME17.5.6 ecu needs also a flash immo-off it seems.
Attached is my first attempt (I replaced 3 locations as I see in similar flash immo off solutions).
Make sure checksums are corrected by your write tool!

Please try and report.
