Hi all, I'm swapping in a replacement second hand engine in my 2005 A4 2.5tdi. I have a genuine vcds cable and software to carry out the adaptation to get the new pump working with the old ecu, but i'm having trouble getting VAG K+CAN Commander 2.5 working with my vcds cable to get the pin for the ecu.

Does anyone have any recommendations what i should use to get the pin?

Would this work?

Hello.
Best way. Read the 24C02 eeprom from ECU. Post here and get Login Pin code from ECU.
I am not sure if dash login code and ecu login code is the same. I think yes. If not, you need to read login code from dash. Dash eeprom or other tools.
I use Xtool X100 pad. This tool can read login code. For other thinks is this tool junk.

For cooperation with Vag K Can Commander 1.4 / 2.5 you can use the cable from the link or the even cheaper VAG KKL .. You can read the Immo PIN from the EDC 15 engine controller. You can also turn off the immo. I was doing this on an Audi A6 2003Y 2.5TDI 163PS BFC.

k+can commander 1.4it works for sure to remove the pin code .... I use it when fvdi doesn't work. But I noticed that the other dd commander 2.5 or 5.5 versions sound much weaker

commander 5.5 is total waste of money, do not buy this - never....

Buddy, just buy the interface from the link you posted (Vag K can commander 1.4).
- using Vag K Can Commander 1.4 or 2.5 software, read the IMMO pin from the EDC 15 engine controller. If you want, turn off IMMO (On / OFF button)
Later, if the pump works, turn on immo and adapt the pump using VCDS. (RossTech)
