Hello DK,

Looking for help to revive a CAS4 - 5M48H - 61.35-9 268 749.9.-01 ( 5WK50520DBR ) with a fried internal power supply.
MCU should still be OK.

Can the data be copied to a used CAS4?

If yes, can a slightly different part number be used? I have part 61.35-9 268 749.9.-02 ( 5WK50520DBR ). Note this ends in 02, not 01 like original.

What data needs to be copied? Only from the 5M48H, or also from the 9S12? etc.

If cas hardware look at same with mcu mask .......no problem for copy/paste .

Yes, the board, components, MCU mask... all identical.

What do i need to copy over both D and P flash data? Any comments on using the VVDI Prog to read mcu eeprom? Or what tool is better recommended?

I use smok for this..
Once unsecured mcu stays unsecured..
You can read and write..
With smok you need to heat mcu a bit with hot air.

Today this method not actual and if tool have this problem .......time to bay samething better like vvdi cg or similar genuine safe tool .

About copy/paste cas4 .

Tested and no problem with genuine tool's........

# X-prog
# vvdi
# cg pro
# orange 5

Abot clon tool's , it's play with risk'a kill flash .

If I can't recover the original data from original CAS, what else can be done? Re-code the new CAS to the car? Program VIN and ISN? Can it be done via file dump or only by OBD with ISTA, etc.?

Renewing the thread...

Old CAS is corrupt... What options are available?

1> Dealer - get new CAS + coded to car?

2> Reflash used CAS? - can the ISN be copied from original DME? Can the original key be programmed?
