Hi,

The car is a Caddy from 2005.
Instrument/Immo: VDO 1T0 920 861 A
Key: 1K0 959 753 G
Frequency is 434MHz, and ID48 chip

I have just bought the key, and now it seems that I can not match the key, because every time it gives me an error.

I have tried with VCDS: after sec. login with the new key, the Adaptation - 10 -> 1st channel gives ERROR, and not the possibility to type in the new number of keys.
VCP also gives an error, in Adaptation it's not possible to see the channel no.1, and with Guided functions it gives an error again (please see screenshot attached)
Autel MK808 gives me the same error, and no possiblity to match the new key.

There is no problem to adapt the old key back, of course, so the problem is not with the procedure, but the new key also looks good (please see the VCDS screen attached).

Have you ever seen anything like this?

Thank you
BR

The above procedure no longer applies to immo 4.

I followed the instructions from Ross-Tech, and I have no issue to match the original key after resetting the counter of programmed keys. Nevertheless, VCP's guiding me through the procedure, but I have no success with the new one

Try to program only the original key. 1 key in.

And check if errors, go away.
VCDS would be my choice.

Must be also TP23, not only ID48.

I also prefer VCDS, but it was also the first which gave me an error in Adaptation - 10 ; channel number 1, after typing the security PIN.

I think its TP08, but I took a screenshot with the new key plugged in, here you can see in the attachment. Based on this, I think it should be possible to match it.

Meas. Blocks - 08]
Select Block 001.
[Go!]
The value in field 3 must be Yes.
If value is No, the key is not capable of being adapted to Immobilizer. (You have NO in one of the fields).
You can check each key in this manner.

Where did you get the key from?
Did you purchase it from a key distributor ?

VCDS can't add key in all types of immo 4

Yes, but the value in field 3 is yes, this is why i Think that it should rather work.
A key from one of the local "distributors", but I'm pretty sure that it is a chinese one.

I have also original diag. tools like VCP and Autel, but none of them was succeeded.

I don't have the cluster pulled out from the car yet, I have read the PIN out from OBD. I will have a look tomorrow. Were there changes which are connected to the MY of these clusters?

Some of these have 24C16, instead of 24C32. 2003/2004 models.
These often make some trouble.
But it you have the PIN.
And also the right chip, it should work with VCDS.

I think VagTacho, was good with that version.

Thanks!

I have proper PIN, since it's accepting, and I can also match the old key back after resetting the number of keys.
I think I need to find somebody with VagTacho or the problem is with the possibly chinese ID48
