A little 1-series CAS3++ nightmare

Hi!

One of my customers called me urgently today with an 08 1-series urgent job. Did the job with VVDI Key Tool Plus, but after the downgrade and adding the key, car no longer starts. Only get a red steering lock warning on the dash.

Tried updating it with ISTA-P but that was even worse! Car was completely dead after. VVDI have a repair function and "revived" the CAS and now I am back to the red steering lock and car not starting.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I have another CAS in stock but i think is just a CAS+.

did you try to reset the elv? thats what that error is, just clear

Steering is locked? Maybe someone put a flash without ELV (with ISTAP45+) and when downgrade you end up with ELV activated.

Tried flashing Flash Request For CAS3++ 0L15Y - MHH AUTO - Page 1 (https://mhhauto.com/Thread-Flash-Request-For-CAS3-0L15Y) but now car is dead, doesn't respond to the start button at all.

I think it was the steering lock all the problem. Maybe someone already disabled it in the CAS and that's why it returned when downgraded, or when I run the update again with ISTA-P.
